Doncaster Mind is a successful local and independent mental health charity based in the centre of Doncaster. We provide a range of services to support people’s mental health recovery and wellbeing, including counselling, mentoring, peer support groups, personal development courses, training, volunteer development, information and guidance.
We are a small team and our organisation is going through a period of significant growth and development. As part of our continuing growth, we are excited to be recruiting two brand new Wellbeing Navigators to join the Doncaster Mind Wellbeing Team.
Doncaster Mind’s Wellbeing Service consists of a number of interventions:
• One to one support includes Counselling, Mentoring and Bereaved by Suicide Counselling.
• Group support includes Personal Development Courses and Peer Support Groups.
The post holders will work within the Wellbeing Team to support the Wellbeing Coordinator with the delivery of Peer Support Groups and Personal Development Courses, along with the running of the 1-1 Mentoring Programme. Both roles will require working with the Wellbeing Navigator based within Changing Lives to develop Pop Up events across all four localities of Doncaster.
121 - Adult mentoring & Volunteer support
Support the delivery and facilitation of the one to one support within the Wellbeing Service, currently through the delivery of mentoring. Promote, recruit, train and support the volunteers who deliver the one to one support.
Wellbeing Group support
Support the delivery and facilitation of Peer Support Groups and First Steps workshops. Develop and deliver Pop Up events in the four localities.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting people and would like to be part of an organisation that empowers people to support their Wellbeing.
You will be enthusiastic and committed to working with clients to identify and access appropriate support both within Doncaster Mind, the Crisis Alternative Alliance and other providers in the local area. You will have experience of supporting people with their mental health/wellbeing or have your own lived experience and understand the barriers and challenges people with mental ill health face.
